Healthy Diet for a Healthy Smile

A Healthy diet for a healthy smile at Kingsport Dental Clinic Livingston

Maintaining a healthy diet can lead to a better brighter smile. Every time you eat sugary or starchy foods, the bacteria in plaque start to produce acids that can lead to tooth decay.

Foods such as Green Tea, Kiwi Fruit, Cheese and Purified Water are just some of the foods that can help you fight plaque and tooth decay naturally through your diet.

Things to avoid

Snacking between meals or chewing gum can feed plaque and cause cavities. Fizzy drinks are often very high in sugar and can leave your teeth exposed for long periods.

Things to do

Drinking purified water will keep your gums hydrated and help your mouth to produce saliva, your body's natural defence against bacteria. Remember to brush twice daily and floss at least once a day.
